An established housebuilder is seeking an experienced Head of Construction to lead the delivery of high-quality residential developments across the region. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a construction professional who can combine strong operational oversight with a clear focus on safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities:

Lead and develop the construction function, setting clear standards and ensuring consistent delivery across all sites.

Oversee construction programmes from pre-start through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget and in line with agreed quality standards.

Work closely with land, technical, commercial, sales and customer-care teams to manage risks, resolve challenges and support business objectives.

Build effective relationships with contractors, consultants, local authorities and other stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry best practice.

Monitor performance across developments, introducing robust processes, reporting and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Essential requirements:

Significant senior construction leadership experience within residential housebuilding or a closely related development environment.

A strong track record of delivering multiple housing schemes, with sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, quality assurance, building regulations and programme management.

Proven ability to lead teams, manage contractors and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Commercial awareness, strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant construction, built-environment or professional qualification is desirable. The role is based at the company’s head office in Bicester, Oxfordshire, and is offered on a permanent basis.
