Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Cookies and similar technologies are small files, identifiers or other information stored on or accessed from your device when you use a website. They include cookies, browser storage, scripts, tags and similar technologies. This policy explains what Housing-Jobs uses, why we use it and the choices available to you.

What we use

We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising and do not permit advertising networks to track visitors across unrelated websites. We do not sell information collected through cookies or similar technologies. At the date of this policy, Housing-Jobs sets no HTTP cookies at all: the items below are stored in your browser's own local and session storage.

The table identifies the specific technologies in use by name. It should be read using those names, not as a list of general categories.

Signing in also causes short-lived security requests to our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on Google's domains as part of that sign-in, which you deliberately initiate; those are governed by Google's privacy notice.

Why we don't show a consent banner

We do not currently use advertising, behavioural-tracking or other technologies that require prior consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

The technologies we use are limited to those necessary for security, authentication, payments and services requested by users, or those used solely to remember selections and interface preferences. Where we rely on the website appearance or functionality exception, you can object or reset your preferences using the control below — you do not have to rely on your browser settings.

If we introduce any technology requiring consent, it will not be activated until you have made an informed choice, and we will update this policy.

Third-party services

We use selected service providers to operate parts of Housing-Jobs: our authentication, database and hosting providers, Google mapping services used for drive-time searches, and Stripe when an advertiser requests payment processing.

Google mapping services. No Google Maps code, script or tag loads in your browser anywhere on this site. Drive-time and location lookups are made server-to-server from Housing-Jobs to the Google Geocoding and Routes APIs, and only after you deliberately run a drive-time search. Google therefore does not store or read information on your device through this site; it receives the place name or postcode you enter, together with our server's request details.

Stripe. Payment is taken on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. When an advertiser presses "Pay", we redirect the browser to Stripe, where Stripe sets its own cookies and identifiers for payment processing and fraud prevention under Stripe's privacy notice. We do not embed Stripe components in our pages, so no Stripe cookie or script is set on Housing-Jobs before you choose to pay.

A third party's own privacy notice explains how that organisation processes information for its purposes. Housing-Jobs remains responsible for ensuring that technologies we cause to operate through our site are properly assessed and disclosed. Where a third-party feature requires consent, it will not load until that consent has been obtained or you have deliberately requested the feature.

Controlling cookies

You can use the reset control above at any time, and you can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Clearing the authentication entry signs you out; blocking storage altogether will stop you signing in, applying for jobs or posting adverts.

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies, including local and session storage, scripts, tags, pixels and device fingerprinting techniques. We do not use pixels or fingerprinting.
