Bicester, Oxfordshire | Permanent | Head office-based Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum

An established housebuilder is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its Construction team in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute construction professional to take responsibility for the successful delivery of residential developments, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, to budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple housing construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. • Oversee site teams, contractors and subcontractors, providing clear direction and maintaining strong working relationships. • Monitor programme, quality, costs, compliance and health and safety performance across developments. • Manage contracts, procurement, variations, valuations and commercial risk in partnership with commercial and technical teams. • Ensure homes are delivered in line with planning requirements, building regulations, company standards and customer expectations. • Identify and resolve operational issues, reporting progress and performance to senior management. • Support continuous improvement across construction processes, standards and working practices.

Essential requirements:

• Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or similar senior construction role within housebuilding or residential development. • Strong knowledge of construction, contracts, health and safety, quality control and regulatory requirements. • Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects, site teams and subcontractors. • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. • Commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, programmes and risk effectively. • Relevant construction qualification, such as a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent professional experience. • A valid CSCS card and appropriate health and safety accreditation.

This permanent role is based at the company’s head office in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
